In this short publication, School-Holidays.Info will tell you about the school holidays in Slovakia 2022-2023. We’ll indicate the exact official start and end dates for the summer, autumn, semi-annual and Easter holidays. We also give the dates of spring holidays, which differ in different regions.
School holidays in Slovakia 2022-2023
Below is a list of all school holidays except spring ones, as their dates differ depending on the region. If there is a gap between the end of vacation and the start of school, then there is a holiday or weekend.
- Summer holidays 2022: from July 1 to August 31 (classes will start on September 4);
- Autumn holidays: from 28 to 31 October 2022 (classes will start on Wednesday 2 November);
- Christmas holidays: from December 23, 2022 to January 5, 2023 (classes will start on Monday, January 9);
- Semi-annual (semester) break: February 3, 2023 (classes will start on Monday February 6);
- Easter holidays: from 6 to 11 April 2023;
- Summer holidays 2023: from July 1 to August 31.
Spring school holidays in Slovakia 2022-2023:

*The first dates are given in accordance with the officially published ones. In the second dates, we took into account the weekend before and after the official holidays. So you will see how much schoolchildren actually rest.
Weekends for Slovak schoolchildren for the holidays 2022-2023
In addition to vacations, Slovak schoolchildren have days off for official holidays. There are 13 of them for the 2022-2023 school year. Below is a complete list of them:
- September 1, 2022 – Constitution Day of the Slovak Republic;
- September 15, 2022 – Sorrowful Mother of God;
- November 1, 2022 – All Saints Day;
- November 17, 2022 – Day of Struggle for Freedom and Democracy;
- December 24, 2022 – Christmas;
- December 25, 2022 – First Christmas holiday;
- December 26, 2022 – Second Christmas holiday;
- January 1, 2023 – Day of the formation of the Slovak Republic;
- January 6, 2023 – Epiphany (Three Kings);
- April 7, 2023 – Good Friday;
- April 10, 2023 – Easter Monday;
- May 1, 2023 – Labor Day;
- May 8, 2023 – Victory Day.
