School holidays in Estonia 2022-2023
In Estonia, it is customary to call school holidays – breaks. There are five in total. The first falls in the autumn, and the last is an analogue of the usual summer holidays. Break dates are the same for elementary and middle school regardless of school level and grade. The only exception is 12th grade. The school calendar is approved by the Ministry of Education and Science.
School holidays in Estonia 2022-2023:
- I break: from Monday 24 to Sunday 30 October 2022;
- II break: from Thursday 22 December 2022 to Sunday 8 January 2023;
- III break: from Monday 27 February to Sunday 5 March 2023;
- IV break (except for 12th grade): from Monday 24 to Sunday 30 April 2023;
- V break (except graduation classes): from Thursday 15 June to Thursday 31 August 2023.
Other holidays and weekends
Apart from regular holidays, Estonian schools are closed on public holidays. The following is a list of public holidays that do not fall on breaks:
- February 24, 2023 – Independence Day;
- April 7, 2023 – Good Friday;
- April 9, 2023 – Easter;
- May 1 – Labor Day;
- May 28 – Pentecost.
