What holidays there will be for schoolchildren in France in 2022?
In addition to the regular holidays, there is the Ascension Bridge. It is sometimes referred to as the Ascension Holidays or holidays. It falls between 25 and 30 May. There are six holiday periods:
- Christmas holidays;
- Winter (carnival) holidays;
- Spring (Easter) holidays;
- Ascension Bridge;
- Summer holidays;
- Toussaint (All Saints’ Day) holidays.
National Holidays
The Republic has 11 national holidays during which almost no one works. Accordingly, schools are closed. Here is a list of French National Holidays for the year 2022:
- January 1st: New Year’s Day;
- 18 April: Easter Monday;
- 1 May: Labour Day;
- 8 May: Armistice Day 1945;
- 26 May: Ascension Day;
- 6 June: Pentecost or White Monday;
- 14 July: Bastille Day or National Day;
- 15 August: Assumption;
- 1 November: All Saints’ Day
- 11 November: Armistice Day 1918;
- 25 December: Christmas Day.
Zones A, B, C
The whole country is divided into 3 zones: A, B, and C (this only applies to education). The school holiday schedule in France is slightly different in each zone. Below you will find the three zones and their regions (in alphabetical order):
