School holidays in Croatia 2022/2023
On May 11, 2022, the Ministry of Science and Education published decision NN 54/2022. It determined the vacation dates in Croatian schools for the 2022-2023 academic year. The school calendar covers elementary and secondary schools.
Elementary and secondary school last for 4 years. These 8 years are compulsory education for Croats. Almost always, vacations and weekends for holidays in both schools coincide. An interesting fact: in Croatia, about 3% of the population cannot read and write. This is about 100 – 115 thousand people.
Here are the school holidays in Croatia 2022/2023:
- Summer holidays 2022: from June 22 to September 4;
- Autumn holidays: from October 31 (actually from October 29) to November 1;
- Christmas holidays: from December 24, 2022 to Friday, January 6, 2023;
- Winter holidays (semester break): from 20 to 26 February;
- Easter holidays: from 6 to 14 (actually – 16) April;
- Summer holidays 2023: from June 22.
Weekends for schoolchildren in Croatia
Apart from regular school holidays, Croatian schools are closed on official public holidays. We have made a selection of holidays for the 2022/2023 academic year by dates:
- November 1, 2022: All Saints Day;
- November 18, 2022: Memorial Day;
- December 25, 2022: Christmas;
- December 26, 2022: Saint Stephen’s Day;
- January 1, 2023: New Year’s Eve;
- January 6, 2023: Epiphany;
- April 9, 2023: Easter Sunday;
- April 10, 2023: Easter Monday;
- May 1, 2023: Labor Day;
- May 30, 2023: Statehood Day
- June 8, 2023: Corpus Christi;
- June 22, 2023: Anti-Fascist Resistance Day.
