In this publication, School-Holidays.Info has collected information about school holidays in Switzerland 2022, 2023 and 2024. We have indicated the dates of the beginning and end of the spring, summer, autumn and Christmas (winter) holidays. At the time of publication, not all cantons, half-cantons and cities have a precise schedule for school holidays. The information will be updated periodically.
General information about school holidays in Switzerland 2022, 2023, 2024
The Swiss Confederation is divided into 26 separate administrative divisions – 20 cantons and 6 half-cantons. In each of them, the dates of the beginning and end of holidays in schools are determined by the administration. There are four holiday periods in one academic year:
- Autumn holidays;
- Christmas (winter, New Year) holidays;
- Spring break;
- Summer holidays.
In this publication, we have provided a schedule of school holidays in Switzerland in 2022, 2023 and 2024. For some cantons, they have not yet been determined (in this case, there is a dash instead of the date). The publication will be gradually updated.
Also in the tables are additional days off falling on holidays and bridges. For the convenience of finding a canton or semi-canton, we have arranged them in alphabetical order.
Important!
In some educational institutions, the holidays schedule may differ from the generally accepted in the region. This mainly applies to private and charitable schools. Check the school year schedule with your educational institution.
