What are the holidays in Germany
Germany has only one federal (state) holiday: German Unity Day. All others are determined separately by the federal states. There are 9 nationalwide holidays that are celebrated on the same day in every land. But they are not fixed at the federal level.
In addition to national holidays, there are national holidays. They are celebrated in individual lands, cities, communes and even localities. There are 11 national holidays. These days, as on nationalwide days, the majority of the population takes a break from work, and schools are closed.
